It’s not often that Tyrone makes national headlines but almost every year in July the nationals have a field day coming up with headlines about the bog snorkelling competition in Peatland’s Park near Dungannon. The event is hosted on International Bog Day which celebrates the importance of our bogs.
But if you don’t fancy seeing Tyrone through mud tinted glasses there are endless other ways to get to grips with the locals. Tyrone is Northern Ireland’s largest county boasting flat peatlands, rivers and canals, mountains, forests and loughs including Lough Neagh.
