Born To Run Tours

When Lonely Planet voted Belfast and the Causeway Coast of Northern Ireland the Best in Travel 2018 it inspired an avid runner to fulfil a dream.

Jonny Graham, originally from Strabane, and now living with his family in Ballymena, decided 2018 was the perfect time to launch Born To Run Tours – a guided running tour company perfect for visitors, locals and corporates.

Jonny, who is a full time finance officer in Belfast for Oxfam Ireland, has been running marathons since 2009. He was bit by the running bug and has been running ever since.

But it’s the beauty of the Causeway Coastal Route which sparked off the idea in Jonny’s head two years ago of setting up his own guided running tour company. The sheer beauty of the views, the rugged landscapes, and, the desire to combine his passion for running with the Causeway Coastal Route, which has led to the creation of Born To Run Tours.

With a ‘Stay and Play’ approach to his tours, Jonny encourages people visiting Northern Ireland not to rush their visit. He intends to work with other guided tour companies, accommodation providers and activity providers, to ensure visitors get the most out of their stay.

Born To Run Tours takes you to the most iconic sites in Belfast

But also loving the city he works in Jonny also does sightseeing running tours of Belfast. While many people enjoy bus tours of the city, Jonny is available for morning and evening running tours of Belfast’s well known sites. So for people staying in Belfast this is a perfect way to see our fantastic city.

Jonny openly admits that no matter where he goes in the world his running shoes are always in his luggage.

“Running with people brings a real social element to health and wellbeing. It’s fantastic. So people running together, and being able to take in the stunning North Coast views and our famous sites in Belfast, is a perfect combination. I look forward to welcoming tourists to Belfast and the North Coast,” Jonny said.

So why not enjoy the Born To Run Coastal Tour 20K, Belfast City Tour Titanic (10K), a Bespoke City Tour (under 10K), Coastal Tour 10K, Belfast City Tour East 10K, a Bespoke Coastal Tour 8K to 12K, Belfast City Tour West 8K, Glenariff Forest Tour 10k, Coastal Tour 8K and a Ballymeamon Hostel Package.

If you fancy a tour with a difference. This is it. With Born To Run Tours you can run at your own pace, you will enjoy the banter, you’ll have great fun and you get to see our beautiful place by foot.

Jeff Jorgensen did and this is his Facebook Review:

We went straight from the registration desk at our hotel to a run through the city, and frankly, we couldn’t have been happier! Jonny gave us the perfect introduction to the city with a lovely 10k run around the city that was tailored to hit the high points. He gave a wonderful overview of city’s history as well as highlighting some of the incredible new growth in the town.

It was a really cool experience and he customized to our ability as well as feeling out our knowledge of the city and history – which until now was lacking – and made it an extremely comfortable experience.

We had a wonderful time, and when we get back into town, will definitely be doing another tour!
