Far and Wild

Far and Wild has developed from small beginnings in 2011 to an award-winning company delivering nature-based experiences unparalleled in the North West of Ireland.

As a not-for-profit, Far and Wild aims to deepen the connection between people and planet. It does this best through a range of activity tours which spark the imagination and make you want to explore more.

Developing a cycling tour in the heart of historic Ulster is one such example. Cycle Sperrins won the Belfast Telegraph Best Foodie Tour in 2017 – a shining example of small businesses working collaboratively with the team to provide overnight stays and hospitality for cyclists, on a new route, through a less visited part of the country.

Building on this success, the following year saw the launch of two Slow Adventure packages in Derry. The River Foyle Stand Up Paddle Board tour is a city-tour with a difference, calling at celebrated fresh seafood street stall Pyke N’ Pommes after a two hour trip on the estuary. Ireland’s and the UK’s first ever city-based Longboard tour (a long Hawaiian conceived skate-board) has been picked up by media channels and celebrities. The Boomboard Tour is named after a local micro-brewery’s latest product- visitors stop for a taster after a lesson and laid-back tour across Derry’s iconic Peace Bridge.

Far and Wild is continually seeking tours which have a special ‘feel’ for its clients in a way which you wouldn’t find anywhere else.

A Moonlight kayak tour will take you on a twilight journey which ends up under a canopy of stars and a view of the moon as it peers up over the horizon. A Game of Thrones Star Trek uses one of of many locations used as film-sets in the North for the start of a night-time walk to enjoy the wonders of the sky at night.

Activities include:

Nature Photography; Giants Causeway Coast Kayak Tour; Rock-Climbing for Women, Wild Atlantic Salmon Tour, Foodie City Cycle; Urban Mountain-biking; Wild Atlantic Way Coasteering; Wild Warriors Archery; Gearing Up Introduction to Mountain Biking course as well as Moonlight Kayaking, Star Trekking, Stand Up Paddle Boarding Tour, Boomboard Tour; Cycle Sperrins.
