Still Waters Fishing

Still Waters is a fresh fish producer and wholesaler based at the well-known Portavogie Harbour in Co Down and is committed to supplying fresh, sustainable seafood from the heart of the Irish sea.

2017 marked the 75th anniversary of Still Waters

This is a company of true heritage.  The family’s history of fishing stems back to 1942 when the first fishing boat called ‘Still Waters’ was built by the current director’s grandfather, Alex Shaw.  The company has developed from owning fishing vessels to supplying premium quality fish and shellfish across Northern Ireland.

#Freshlocal

The delicious fish varieties are shipped daily from day boats to the local market, and, within hours, are with customers including popular retail outlets and trendy restaurants and hotels throughout Northern Ireland and beyond.

Still Waters Scallop and Prawn meat are 100 per cent natural with no additives or preservatives.

Portavogie is a fantastic little place and full of Northern Ireland’s signature coastal character.  Despite it being small, it’s one of the main fishing ports in the region and is a town famous for its prawns and herrings which has boosted the local fish processing industry but also boat building.

The community are still very passionate about the industry as fishing has been at the heart of this town and passed down through the generations of many families.  You’ll not be surprised to hear talk about fish, boats, fish and more boats, day in and day out!

Signature Range

Still Waters has access to freshly caught Langoustine, Scallops, Lobster, Crab and prime fish such as Cod, Haddock, Plaice, Hake, Dover Sole and Monkfish.

They also smoke their own fish on the premises using old traditional methods handed down through generations to produce a uniquely flavoured fish at their premises in Portavogie.

Sustainability

Nurturing the sea is at the core of Still Waters.  Scallops sourced from the Co. Down coast are landed fresh daily and processed by skilled cutters.  Strict Co. Down sustainability regulations ensure that the scallops are no less than 110mm shells providing the meatiest of king scallops.

Afraid of missing out?  The Still Waters factory is also open to the general public so you too can buy the best quality fish there is.

Still Waters Fishing is a Live It Experience It member.  We are delighted to have Still Waters on board.
