Meet Laura Irwin – An Outdoor Sports Enthusiast!

Live It Experience It is delighted to have contributing bloggers on board with us who want to share their experiences of Northern Ireland. We are always out and about get out and we want to tell you our stories. We would like to introduce you to Laura Irwin from Co Tyrone, who is an experienced backpacker and an enthusiast for all things sporty.
Brought up on a farm in rural Co Tyrone, I was always a keen enthusiast for getting my wellies dirty in the great outdoors even if that meant help milking the cows!
In 2013, I moved to the windy city of Aberdeen in Scotland to study my Public Relations degree. During this time I also studied for a semester at the Copenhagen School of Design and Technology in Denmark. Such time spurred my curiosity to experience the luxurious ways of a backpacker so I dedicated my time off from study by travelling to countries such as China, Vietnam and Thailand.
As someone who likes to dip my toes into everything and anything I enjoy dedicating my time, when not tending the farm, to outdoor sports.
In recent years, during my summer months back home in Northern Ireland, I have completed long distance cycling events, a marathon and an Olympic triathlon.
Having completed such events, I now appreciate the amazing cycle paths, fresh open waters and gorgeous scenery Northern Ireland has to offer.
Now as a recent graduate, and settled back home to live in Northern Ireland, I am excited to explore what is on offer on my very own doorstep. Having recently tried my hand at surfing on the north coast of Antrim, I am hugely anticipating that this summer I will become County Tyrone’s first surfing champion (here’s hoping!).
So I look forward to showing you all, in the upcoming months, what our emerald island has to offer in terms of health and well being.
