Thumbs up from the Slemish Market Supper Club

By ELEANOR MCGILLIE 19 June, 2017

Live It Experience It launched just over three months ago. We are delighted to be working with such an amazing bunch of businesses who want to grow, learn and succeed. We all work together to promote Northern Ireland for it’s water, land and air based activities, food and drink and great places to stay. Here’s what our member Rob Curley of the Slemish Market Supper Club has to say about us.

I became a member of Live It Experience It following its launch in February 2017. It has provided me with the opportunity to promote Slemish Market Supper Club on a larger scale.

The food industry in Northern Ireland is always expanding and there is an increasing amount of new food experiences and products being introduced all of the time. It was therefore very important for the Slemish Market Supper Club to be acknowledged as part of the food scene in Northern Ireland.

Since becoming a member of Live It Experience It, I have had articles published in newspapers and magazines as well as being promoted on the radio and through the Live It Experience It Facebook Page as well as Instagram, Google+ and Twitter.

As a result of Live It Experience It’s brand journalism approach, the team were able to tell the story of our brand and get it out to a larger audience which has attracted new diners to our supper club which took place on Saturday. We were totally booked to capacity and the next club, which takes place in Tralee, is also fully booked up.

While attending the launch of the project, I met other people who I have worked with to develop and improve the Slemish Market Supper Club.

Eleanor McGillie, who established the Live It Experience It project, has always had a very “hands on” approach to the extent that she travelled to Ballymena to experience the Slemish Market Supper Club for herself.

Following this, she blogged about her experience on Instagram using pictures taken on the evening. The team is very supportive and is always keen to continuously promote my business. I keep in regular contact with Live It Experience It and vice versa –  this ensures I am maximising my membership and ensures the Slemish Market Supper Club’s profile remains consistently active and that together we are telling the story of this food movement.

One of the benefits of being a member of the collective is that I have learned about many other businesses in Northern Ireland which are part of the food and leisure industry.

It is very motivating to be identified as a part of this group and it gives me a sense of belonging in a community of businesses which all strive to promote the food and leisure industry in Northern Ireland.

Overall, Live It Experience It has expanded my knowledge, introduced me to new contacts which I would never otherwise have had and it has been an excellent forum in which my business has been further promoted.

I would recommend, any business working in the tourism sector, to come on a journey with us all.
