Christmas at The Arcadia Portrush
By ELEANOR MCGILLIE 25 November, 2018
Tis the season, and, if you are heading to the North Coast on this frosty Sunday morning, The Arcadia in Portrush is hosting its Christmas Craft Fair today. With plenty of parking on East Strand why not go along, support locals arts and crafts and pick those stocking filler essentials
Blue skies and a white frost – you can tell we are getting closer and closer to Christmas.
Towns across Northern Ireland are officially open for business as the big switch on has illuminated many streets.
If you are like me however and much prefer shopping as local as local can be then wake up, smell The Arcadia’s coffee and get ready for a Christmas Craft Fair in Portrush’s most iconic building and enjoy beautiful products with views over East Strand through the porthole windows of The Arcadia.
Today, The Arcadia will open its doors to locals and visitors where there will be a range of exhibits for sale from a range of high quality crafters and artists from around the North Coast.
The cafe will be open all day too so you can shop, eat and go for a wintry walk along the beach.
The fayre, which is in its third year now, is always very popular with local craftspeople and there’s always a reserve list of people hoping to exhibit.

Laura, who organises the fair, said: “I choose high quality crafters and artists from around the North Coast. This year the traders are The Irish Jewellery Studio, Crafty Coast, Yellow Flower Crafts, Meadow Park Beading, Artisan Glass by Denise Loughrey, Candytuft Creations, Two Goats Soap, Cozy Candles, Conor Edgell Photography and Stamped by Elle & Bee.
“And for the second year we have chosen the RNLI as the nominated charity and so the team will be here today also selling RNLI merchandise so come along and support us. The cafe will be open from 10am to 4pm so come out on this beautiful Sunday morning and enjoy what’s here.”
