Tourism businesses get ready for cluster – Live It Experience It

Live It Experience It is a community of like minded tourism businesses who are working together to promote Northern Ireland and their contributions to tourism. Together we promote Northern Ireland through food and drink, great places to stay and through our wealth of land, water and air based activities.

We all know the saying that we don’t know what’s on our own doorstep. For many that is so true. But for businesses working in rural communities it’s important to highlight their importance and showcase their offering for our visitors.

We are based in the Georgian village of Caledon and there’s a wealth of businesses catering for locals and tourists between Caledon, Tynan, Killylea, Aughnacloy and all of the intricate surrounding areas. From bed and breakfasts to self catering accommodation, tearooms and restaurants, a baking school, arts and crafts and much more.

And that’s not us even mentioning the plethora of outdoor places to explore such as the Clogher Valleys, castles, loughs, fishing lakes, rivers, villages, mountain biking trails and places of historical significance.

Tyrone - Hiking in the mountains - Live It. Experience It.

So in the true spirit of Live It Experience It we are getting together next month to talk to each other face to face, pitch our businesses, find out what each other needs, establish how we can help, work together, and, ultimately, our members will be creating tourism packages and experiences which we will then share with everyone.

Next month’s meeting will take place in a luxury self catering home in the quiet village of Carnteel, near Aughnacloy in Co Tyrone. Holiday Homes NI is run by an interior designer Rachael Reid. Rachael’s family’s history is steeped in Carnteel where they have two properties – Aghaloo House and Robeth Cottage.

Aghaloo House is a luxurious, beautifully finished country house which sleeps 14 people, has a private garden, a luxurious barbeque hut and is suitable for groups of friends or families looking for the ultimate rural retreat with plenty of outdoor places to explore. Robeth Cottage sleeps four and is ideal for that ultimate couples romantic getaway.

The aim of this meeting is to introduce our members in this area and discuss what everyone can bring to the table in terms of a visitor experience. Holiday Homes NI attracts visitors from different corners of the world as well as hen and stag parties from the UK and Ireland who are looking for something luxurious and unique. With its own appointed professional chefs on hand this is a space which is fantastic too for intimate corporate functions in a beautiful rural setting.

But when people come to such a luscious green country area they want to know what there is to do while they are here.

We are really looking forward to bringing our members to Aghaloo House because our group of rural business owners work hard, strive to achieve, have a fantastic offering for locals and tourists and we want to celebrate this with everyone.

Live It Experience It members will be attending and we are inviting other tourism businesses, working in the area, to get involved with Live It Experience It by contacting us prior to our event on August 9. Places are limited to 10 people. It’s a members only event.
